Annual July 1st Canada Celebrations and Baseball Game

July 1st, 2010 Canada marks the 7th year that the residents, lay and monastics from Gampo Abbey joined with the community of Pleasant Bay, Nova Scotia to celebrate Canada by playing baseball against the local volunteer firefighters. The weather was perfect for the parade down to the community park. This year the ball teams were pretty evenly matched and at one point the game was tied 5 to 5. True to form the fire fighters pulled ahead and won the close game 11 to 8. A fun day was had by all
